Do I need and attorney?

Do I need an attorney?

At Mississippi Bonding Company, we highly recommend that all of our clients hire an attorney.   Criminal charges, no matter how minor, can have serious complications and implications for the rest of your life.  Even if you know you are completely guilty and “just want to get it over with”, we still recommend that you talk to an attorney before you do anything.   Defendants charged with crimes are almost always best served by obtaining an attorney.

There are many lawyers out there and the majority of them do not do criminal work.    You want to find an attorney that specializes in criminal defense work.  While they may do other things, they spend the majority of their time in criminal courts and understand what they need to do in order to best represent you.   Attorneys who don’t regularly practice criminal law don’t know the law enforcement officers that may be involved and they don’t know the prosecutors and possibly don’t even know the Judges that you will face.   In so much of life, having personal knowledge of the players is as important as knowing the rules.

Mississippi Bonding Company agents cannot recommend specific attorneys.  We can give you the names of several criminal defense attorneys, but it’s up to you as to who you retain.  But there is no question, it is definitely in your best interest to hire an attorney to represent you.  #msbonding
